Unlike the brand’s existing Marina Bay Sands outpost which only stocks accessories, the new Scotts Square boutique (#01-01/02 & #02-01A) brings in men’s and women’s ready-to-wear ($1,000-$15,000), which were previously only retailing in multi-label stores.

At 2,580 sq ft – about the size of a five-room bungalow – find seasonal offerings (Pre-fall’s edgy Victorian-esque pieces are now in store) as well as popular accessories such as the bejewelled minaudiere with a skull-topped handle and skull print scarves.

The store’s interior takes inspiration from the art world – British painter Francis Bacon’s raw, compelling works that verge on disturbing and Swiss surrealist artist H R Giger – and the beauty of the female form. While the store is awash in soft, feminine colours (dusky pink and pale grey), materials like marble, leather and aged brass lend a more luxe, refined touch – exactly what creative director Sarah Burton envisaged for the interior design. The star attraction, which reflects the brand’s darkly rebellious edge, is a feature wall of bespoke plaster panelling created by London-based interior design firm David Collins Studio that bear etchings of cactus flowers and tangled leaves alongside signature motifs of tiny skulls and gargoyle caricatures.
