Poppy extract, which reportedly limits the storage of stubborn fats on the abdomen, waist and arms, and helps eliminate them from the body, is the star ingredient of Clarins’ latest Body Shaping Cream ($98), which was first launched in 1974. (For the uninitiated: Stubborn fat refers to fat cells that have a greater storage capacity and give the body a rounded, chunky appearance.) Other ingredients include caffeine to help break down fat, and organic quince extract to restore skin elasticity. Meanwhile, for its latest scent, FlowerbyKenzo looks not to the red, but the white poppy. The flower doesn’t actually have a scent, but the L’Eau Originelle EDT ($110) has notes of white freesia, white peony, white musk and an aquatic accord to recreate the lightness that it brings to mind.
