The British It Girl debuts the watch she co-designed with Tag Heuer during the Monaco Grand Prix weekend and has convinced us she can design just about anything.
It will not be until September or October before the rest of the world gets to buy the watch Cara Delevingne co-designed for Tag Heuer. But the model-actress gave a world preview of the Carrera timepiece – at pre-race events organised by the brand – during the Monaco Grand Prix over the weekend. And it is possibly the most fashion-forward timepiece the brand has ever rolled out.
Sporting an all-black look for the first time, the Carrera model comes with a quited leather strap (no prizes for guessing what her favourite brand is) and a smokey grey sunray dial. The luxe touches: a rose gold-plated hour and minute markers and hands. Black or white diamonds are studded on the hardy and lightweight titanium carbide-treated bezel for some bling. A signature Delevingne touch is also given for the timepiece, with a lion’s head tattoo on her finger emblazoned on the case back. Showing off the watch’s versatility, Delevingne paired the whopper-sized timepiece (it measures 41mm) with a jumpsuit for a yacht party in the evening, where her DJ pal Mark Ronson was spinning. (Here’s another DJ whose playlist we like).
