guan min michelle phan

She’s the consummate cool-girl Instagrammer who’s part of our Female Collective, a group of seven girls who we call influential (not influencers). She’s an avid beauty junkie (you have to check out the red lipstick she created with local beauty brand Faux Fayc), and also styled some of the hottest shoe trends for Fall Winter ’15 with her signature sultry take.

Now, local It girl Guan Min (@girlwhocriedwolf) is carving out a bigger niche in the digital sphere by signing on with Icon Network Asia, an online platform founded by YouTube makeup guru Michelle Phan that has tastemakers sharing everything from fashion and beauty tips to fitness and lifestyle advice through vlogs.

And yes, the fact that she’s the first Singaporean to get signed is laudable, but how it happened is even cooler: when Christopher Smith, head of digital and branded content at Icon Network’s partner agency Endemol Beyond, came across a profile story we did on Guan to introduce her as part of the Female Collective and noticed she was keen to start her own YouTube channel (it’ll be called “girlwhocriedwolf”) which will serve as a “fun, creative outlet to share (her) views on fashion and beauty”. They then reached out to Guan and the rest, as they say, is history.

Watch this space for more updates to come – we’re looking forward to seeing what Guan Min has in store for us (expect it to be informative, engaging and with a distinct point of view).
