You can create visual interest with an all-white set-up. The bedding here features delicate embroidery, and is paired with cosy cushions in a chevron knit pattern. The only jolt of colour? Lemon yellow pillow cases, and the knick-knacks on your side table.

If the idea of bed spreads with embellishments or in thick velvet throws you off, the safest bet is to start with throw cushions and blankets. A polka-dot quilt and oriental-inspired embroidered throw pillow play perfect mash-up in this room.
