For the French brand’s recent Fall haute couture runway show, Creative and Image Director for Dior Make-up Peter Philips created a makeup look using graphic eyeliner in a unique and modern way on each model, adapting it to their eyes. “I wanted to create, for more than forty looks, a free variation on eyeliner,” says Philips. “It was a challenge to customise the look each time in an unusual and audacious way, creating makeup that was made-to-measure, just like Haute Couture is.”
In a reflection of the runway silhouettes and the touches of gold in the decor, some models wore gold eyeliner. Peter Philips explained that he had “envisaged these looks as punctuation, using Dior Addict Fluid Shadow Phenix, applied with a brush in broad gold colour-blocking, to obtain a dramatic, gold, textured effect.”
“Whether exaggerated, underlined, framed or ringed, the eyes were the dominant feature. Eyeliner was drawn on in a sophisticated graphic style,” says Philips. Diorshow Pro-liner Pro Black, or depending on the desired shape, Diorshow Artpen Catwalk Black was used.

The upper lashes were double coated: first with Diorshow Maximiser 3D, then with either the Diorshow Iconic Over Curl Over Black or the Diorshow Pro Black.
Eyebrows were tidied and defined with either the All in Brow 3D kit or the Diorshow Brow Styler to create an elegantly classic counterpoint to the graphic makeup.

Diorskin Forever & Ever Control Loose Powder was swept over the face to give a soft, luminous glow.
A soft wash of Dior Blush Edition Splendor N° 671 on the cheeks gave the models a natural-looking flush.
Lips were kept natural-looking. A dab of Fix It was first applied to neutralise lip colour, then a blend of Lip Glow Pomade and Lip Glow Pink for subtle colour and shine.
