Being stuck in an aeroplane for hours can do damage to your skin if you do not treat it properly. For one, cabin air is recycled and is extremely dry, making your skin produce more oil than it should to counteract the arid air. It also contains harmful dust particles which may lead to unwanted breakouts. Thus, it’s extra important to ensure your skin gets the hydration it needs with the right skincare routine.
Whether your flight lasts for three hours or half a day, you should never compromise on my skincare routine. Here, I share with you my in-flight skincare routine to ensure my complexion retains its moisture and the light makeup I put on so that I will come out of the plane looking fresh and ready for the day.
I always start off with a clean canvas so I make sure to cleanse my skin using facial cleansing wipes that are gentle and do not strip off moisture.
These pads are my holy grail. Each box comes with a total of 70 pads and contains hyaluronic acid and natural BHA to give your skin added plumpness and remove dead skin cells, leaving my skin refreshed, clearer and more hydrated.

Formulated with organic Jeju green tea leaves, this mineral mist immediately soothes and moisturises my skin. I spritz this on my face whenever my skin feels dry during the flight.

After the mist, I will use a facial oil and the one I’m currently loving is Huxley’s oil essence. It does not leave your skin feeling greasy while still giving lasting hydration and protecting the skin from ageing with its high concentration of antioxidants. It is also the perfect size to travel with. It is formulated with Sahara Cactus Oil, Quinoa, and Acai berry to moisturise and nourish.
I always use a hydrating sheet mask when I’m on the plane. This contains hyaluronic acid and sodium lactate to hydrate and restore balance to my skin. For a more in-depth review on the range, read it here.
It is very important to protect your skin from UV rays even when on the plane. This one’s my favourite as it is convenient to use and travel with. It is also made with Japanese apricot extract and skin soothing powder to help calm irritated skin.

Instead of heavy makeup, I prefer a fresher, more natural and youthful look whenever I touch down. This lightweight cushion foundation is my go-to as it helps to hydrate my skin while also providing enough coverage to conceal my blemishes and dark eye circles. It also helps to brighten my skin and gives a semi-matte finish.
To complete my look, I love using lip glosses to give my puckers a wash of colour and extra plumpness. This highly pigmented gloss is perfect as it is formulated with high-performance polymers, providing a gorgeous, shiny finish.
