For their rustic seaside wedding in Bali, Olivia Ow and Mark Teo decided on a glorious grey, blush and gold theme with glam touches. She tells us:
We got to know each other through my cousin a long while back, and it was many years before Mark made the first move by asking for my address on the pretext of picking me up for dinner with some friends – even though I wasn’t staying anywhere near him. We started hanging out more after that nigth and here we are now.
Mark originally planned to propose in Bangkok while we were on holiday with friends, but the engagement ring wasn’t properly set. When he finally collected the ring, he tried to organise a surprise party at a rooftop bar here. He was about to pay the deposit when he found out that we had to attend my grandma’s birthday celebration on the same day. So, he decided to take me to our favourite restaurant instead. To make matters worse, I almost cancelled on him because I was so busy at work.
Afterwards, he insisted on going to the Marina Bay Sands boardwalk to get a couple of shots of the skyline. As I was sitting on the boardwalk and feeling a little woozy from a couple of drinks, he took out t he ring. My first reaction? “OMG! Now? Here?” We wanted ours to be the perfect gathering with our closest friends and family. Romantic yet cosy, and elegant yet relaxed, it was a celebration of not just our union but of our families and friends who’d seen us through it all.
