We know for a fact that the Female Collective’s approach to partying is one that we can easily relate and aspire to. This festive season, it’s only apt that we bring you some of the places they frequent – from Paris’ ultra-chic night club Raspoutine to Capella Singapore’s colonial manor.
Here are the Female Collective’s Nadia Rahmat, Marie Soh, Aude Giraud, Bella Koh and Charmaine Seah-Ong sharing their favourite places to spend the year-end:
“Kilo Lounge is obviously my first choice – we’ve just moved to a bigger and better space (with a little more accessibility). I would also love to tour around our neighbouring islands; we live so close to Asian countries with plenty of beautiful islands to visit (like Bali which I am at right now) and Tokyo (which I’ll be heading to next week). Traveling acts as a counter-balance to all my partying. A bit of escapism is, after all, good for the soul.”
Disclaimer: Interior shot of the new space is not yet available at press time.
“I usually like places which broadcast Christmas carols and emit feel-good vibes. My two favourite spots are: Gardens By The Bay Christmas Wonderland and Orchard Road (I love walking down and looking at the lights and decorations put up by the various malls).”
“Raspoutine is a very chic night club near the Champs-Elysees – it’s a heritage building which used to be a Russian cabaret and a former brothel. It is also a great place to dance in all night long (you might even get to bump into French and international celebrities like Dita Von Teese). There’s also La Mano, a tapas club (read: new hip place) in the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Helmed by night life guru Lionel Bensemoun (he’s behind the mythic club Le Baron that was closed for renovation), it’s the place to see and to be seen, and beat the cold winter by eating hot tapas and drinking tequila in a muy caliente (which means very hot) Latin American atmosphere.”
“A gathering organised by Kinfolk in Japan, or Marradi in Tuscany, which is a nice retreat as it’s a hidden, slow-living town. But staying in Singapore works as well – like booking the colonial manor in Capella Singapore to throw your own #slowlife party.”
“For as long as I can remember, it’s in our family tradition to have my parents throw a huge dinner party for all of our closest friends and family every Christmas eve. My mother will whip up an amazing feast at home, comprising of lobster, turkey, lasagne, and roast beef, with all the sauces and trimmings that you can dream of. My contribution: Sangria (that’s a secret recipe) which we make jugs and jugs of, just so everyone is in a real jolly mood as we countdown to Christmas together.”
