She may only be 15 years old, but this talented teen has already garnered much attention for her startlingly mature outlook and distinct voice. Amongst the different indie groups, The Internet definitely stands out for being a hip-hop soul band best known for their soulful, alternative R&B sound. The band is returning to the Laneway stage next year after and they will be singing new songs from their upcoming record, which is said to be released next year.
Fans of electronic music will definitely want to catch Bonobo. First as a DJ in the United Kingdom’s thriving club scene, and now with a live band in tow, this multi-talented producer shows no signs of stopping and has already released six full-length albums over a period of five years.
The Australian indie pop singer-songwriter and producer who’s best known for her single Adore will be taking the stage at Laneway next year. Besides the annual music festival, the in demand songstress will also be performing at various other festival spots such as Groovin The Moo and Bass In The Grass.
Known as one of the biggest up-and-coming bands in the indie-rock scene, this North-London alt-rock band is making waves with its unique combination of grunge, indie and folk influence. Although young, the band has already been nominated for the Grammys, the Brits and The Mercury Priz.
The local rap artist, whose real name is Kevin Lester, launched his first full album Paradise last year with his first single Yaya garnering over 145,000 views on Youtube at press time and over 858,000 streams on Spotify.
Producing music since his early teens, the 21-year-old has since made his mark in Malaysia’s electronic music scene with his brand of atmospheric music that merges dance electronic and R&B. This alternative genre-bending group is best known for its textured layers of distorted guitar riffs, unique sounds, effects and streams of soft yet melodious vocals. Having released their first full-length album early this year, we predict the tracks will be performed on the stage of Laneway next year.
Whether its hip-hop beats or dancehall tunes, this multi-faceted artist is all about celebrating different cultures and expressions through her music. She also cemented herself as an artist to watch after going on her world tour in 2013.
This homegrown quintet is best known for their eccentric spectorgaze-esque sounds, a term they coined themselves to describe their music. The band recently released their third five-track EP after a five-year hiatus so expect to listen to their new music on the stage next year.
