The upcoming Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix will be commemorating its tenth year at the Marina Bay Street Circuit come 15 September and it’s pretty clear that they will be celebrating it in a huge way, what with the many international, regional and local acts performing through the F1 weekend. So besides listening to cars whiz by, here are the acts to catch and get pumped up about.
#1: Calvin Harris (17 September, Sunday)
Scottish DJ and record producer Calvin Harris stands as the figurehead for modern dance music and will be one of the main acts to spin at the highly anticipated event. Having recently released his latest album, get ready to revel through the night to his latest tracks.

#2: Ariana Grande (16 September, Saturday)
The princess of pop music (and the fourth most followed celebrity on Instagram) will finally be making her inaugural appearance in our city. Be prepared to dance to her widely popular songs as she takes the stage next weekend.

#3: The Chainsmokers (16 September, Saturday)
American DJ duo The Chainsmokers will return to Singapore for the Grand Prix (they previously made an appearance at Zouk Singapore two years back). With over five billion global streams and three multi-platinum singles, the duo has amassed a huge following and have already spun at major music festivals such as Ultra and Coachella.

#4: Duran Duran (16 and 17 September, Saturday and Sunday)
Fans of rock music, get excited because this iconic British band will be hitting our very own Formula 1 stage. The band is a refreshing change amidst the pop and EDM artists and is also one of the most experienced acts on the field (read: they debuted in 1981).

#5: Aarika Lee & The Next Movement (16, 17 and 18 September, Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
Our very own Female collective member Aarika Lee will also be returning to the F1 stage together with homegrown band The Next Movement. The three-member band will be performing renditions of top 40 pop, indie, soul and funk tracks to get the crowd grooving.

#6: Sam Rui (16, 17 and 18 September, Friday, Saturday and Sunday)
Upcoming contemporary R&B singer-songwriter Sam Rui adds to the string of local acts performing at the event. The 21-year old has already released a variety of singles (which are available on Spotify), performed at Laneway Festival 2017 and sang alongside Asia’s biggest musicians including Jay Park, Gentle Bones, and The Sam Willows.

#7: Shigga Shay (17 September, Sunday)
Local hip-hop artist Shigga Shay will be bringing his freshest beats and raps to the stage next weekend. As one of the pioneers of the hip-hop scene in Singapore, the music producer will be performing his latest hits and tracks that have got a Singapore twist to them.
