A mirror designed by interior and architecture firm Ministry of Design (MOD) is featured on the April cover of Wallpaper* magazine. So how different can a mirror be? We got MOD’s head honcho Colin Seah to reflect on his team’s design. This Singapore Designed Mirror Made The Cover Of Wallpaper 2

“Our design for the ‘Measure of Reflection’ mirror explores daily rituals and the essence behind why we do the things we do. In this case, the act of viewing one’s reflection and what it reveals about the viewer’s motivations: Scrutiny or hubris? Vanity or insecurity?” explains MOD’s director of design Colin Seah. “The mirror’s dual tones and diagonal cut alludes to seeing the world through rose-tinted glasses as a position that cannot be sustained, and thus begins to collapse onto itself.”

For its 2015 Global Interiors Survey, Wallpaper* magazine selected MOD’s mirror design in its line up of “the shapeliest international design and architecture from Sweden, USA, Poland, China, South Korea and Singapore.” As an objet d’art, the mirror for Industry+ also appears on the cover of the magazine and has been presented at Maison & Objet (Paris 2014), Design Junction (London 2014) and Singapore Design Week 2014.
