Though Singapore is unfortunately blisteringly hot all year round, June definitely sees an uptick in travelling, what with the school holidays for children. Even if we don’t really experience change in seasons, it definitely feels like summer, what with the weekly releases of blockbusters – Wonder Woman kicked off the season, followed by the reboot of the Mummy, and next month’s Spider-Man: Homecoming and many more.
With this week’s long weekend coming up (thank god), it’s nice to get away to the beach, even if you’re aren’t flying out. Here are our recommendations to stay chic at the beach:
Jacquemus’s SS’17 collection was one of my top collections for that season – it was easily one of his most polished collections for such a young label and as I said at that time, his oversized straw hats were my pick for the best of the season and I still stand by that firmly.
I’m loving J.W.Anderson’s continued efforts at infusing the arts into Loewe and this whimsical bag with a strap festooned with shells is completely charming.
Plaid and checks are a huge trend this fall and this lovely ensemble from American label Apiece Apart nails it perfectly for casual wear. With its bucolic vibes, it would go perfectly with the Jacquemus straw hat.
This beautiful necklace by Celine adds a touch of gypsy to your outfit.
Channel a ’50s siren with this adorable two-piece ensemble – Kendall Jenner was spotted last month in a similar outfit by the same designer at Cannes Film Festival.
In my book, Ray Bans can never go wrong and this update on the traditional style with its hexagonal shape is a winning combo.
The beach calls for a sandal and what could look more authentically rustic as this handwoven pair by Ball Pages?
With its quirky shape and handpainted motif, this tote by the classic French designer Vanessa Seward is a must for any beach-side vacation.
Add a touch (okay, huge dose) of whimsy with this cute bracelet shaped in the form of a paper boat we used to play with when we were kids.
Who says going to the beach means you have to look ratty?
