It might have been a coincidence, but the yearly Cinco de Mayo celebrations — to fete Mexican-American culture — got a big dose of style in Los Angeles last week thanks to Cartier. The jewellery and watch maison headed to Hollywood, converting a spacious studio into a black-and-gold-themed club complete with gilded palm trees, and invited some of fashion’s, cinema and pop culture’s biggest names to fete the Panthere de Cartier watch.
The glamourous venue is a fitting setting for the watch — a popular timepiece that made its debut in 1983, before it was discontinued in the 2000s and rehashed in a big way this year with two new sizes and nine design updates. Among the guest were those who walked the Met Gala red carpet in New York a few days before like Dakota Johnson and Lily Collins. Also in attendance are It girls like Asia Chow, Sasha Lane and Camille Rowe. The entertainment throughout the night? By an equally A-list, with sets by Alicia Keys, electronic soul duo Lion Babe, and Mark Ronson just to name a few.
