The Labels To Know

“The [vintage-inspired] designs of Attico – started by Milanese It girls Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio – are becoming must-haves every season. Everything from their crystal embroidered blouses to the feathered evening bags are so desirable. American designer Brandon Maxwell [known for his eveningwear] also has a very strong S/S ’18 collection that plays with colours. We see this on the slim day dresses and beautifully sculpted jackets. Meanwhile, New York-based Gabriela Hearst has a style that’s so effortless yet so chic and stylish. She created my favourite suit of the season: a double-breasted navy number with large checks.”

New Brands On The Site

“Copenhagen label Stine Goya creates very editorial clothes that will appeal to the cool fashion girls, while Alice McCall from Sydney is super-feminine and great for event-appropriate clothes at a good price. We discovered Korean streetwear brand We11Done in Seoul, and love its cool and edgy casualwear. There’s also Brock Collection by the husband-and-wife team of Laura Vassar and Kris Brock that does beautiful and feminine ready-to-wear, and the fabulous faux fur jackets and capes from House of Fluff, which are simply better than the real thing. Two new denim brands are Grlfrnd and E.L.V. Denim. In the handbags category, Carolina Santo Domingo, Hunting Season and Wandler are names you’d be seeing more of [for minimalist and structured designs].”

“A lot of the strong tailoring elements from F/W ’17 will continue into Spring. Colours [from pastels to bright hues] are also everywhere and span ready-to-wear, handbags and accessories. I especially love the soft palette of Loewe’s bags. Mules and kitten heels are big across the board for shoes, with my personal favourites being the ones from Prada and Attico. I also love the crystal embellishments on shoes at Saint Laurent and Christopher Kane.”

Three Spring Must-Haves

“Go for a great trench coat with a twist like the Loewe piece, which comes with a unique twisted fringe hem. Put on a feminine dress in a bold and powerful colour – my favourites are from Balenciaga, Rejina Pyo or Roksanda. A beautiful tan leather bag, like the woven tote from Loewe [pictured below], is a timeless but still statement-making bag.”

“I’ve been following Molly Goddard for a number of seasons. I love her use of smocking and crochet. I’m also excited to launch an exclusive ready-to-wear capsule collection with [LA-based interior decorator turned fashion designer] Rebecca de Ravenel. We’ve been stocking her statement earrings for a few seasons, and they have resonated so much with our customers.”

Favourite S/S’18 Trends

“Summer boots are a surprising trend of the season. Maison Margiela and Chloe had some great Western styles that are paired with beautiful summer dresses. Patchwork-inspired dresses are another of my favourites. Marni and Joseph both have beautiful runway looks with a mixture of patterns, while [LVMH Prize 2017 winner] Marine Serre’s carpet-like patchwork dress was a stand-out of the season.”

Three Spring Must-Haves

“Minimalist handbags that focus on sleek shapes and high-quality leather from brands such as Lutz Morris and Wandler. The shell-inspired accessories as seen on slippers from Sanayi 313 and Rebecca de Ravenel jewellery will bring vacation dressing to your everyday wardrobe. Lastly, go for luxe basics. The Row highlighted this trend with a basic tank top paired with sleek trousers and coats.”

The Labels To Know

“I love Racil, the young London-based label by Racil Chalhoub, for doing great suits. I fell in love with it two seasons ago when it did a baby blue suit that had an amazing tailoring. It’s like eveningwear that you can wear for the day as well. I also love Attico by Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini.”

Racil’s well-tailored suits gets her nod of approval.

Favourite S/S’18 Trends

“I’ve been seeing a lot of yellow at the shows, and it’s such an enlivening colour. I also love how the suiting trend that started last season is updated to be about suits that you can wear from day to night. You see this at brands like Racil, Victoria Beckham and Stella McCartney. And the fanny packs at Gucci are a very versatile trend. I love that each is a bit edgy, and you can also wear it as a belt.”

Three Spring Must-haves

“A top-handle bag, as it’s cool and useful, and can be carried for day and night. I particularly love the ones by [American heritage brand] Mark Cross. A woman should definitely have a very good suit. I’m French, so we tend to have a very small and edited wardrobe of the classics. I love white shirts above all. Balenciaga does great white shirts, as does Maison Margiela. Sock boots will continue to be popular. I love them in bright colours like hot pink. Pair them with jeans for a fun and edgy look.”fashion experts

Quality staples (white shirts) + seasonal favourites (sock boots) = fun and edgy.

Best-selling Brands On Vestiaire

“Obviously all the big luxury brands such as Hermes, Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Demand for Gucci is especially sky-rocketing at the moment. But we also have over 3,000 brands on the site, including niche ones like Mark Cross and Racil. So there’s demand for very specific products too.”

Tastemakers On Her Radar

“Vanessa Paradis’ daughter, Lily-Rose Depp, will be the one to watch. It’s the same for Cindy Crawford’s daughter, Kaia Gerber, who totally resembles her mother. Asian influencers are also on the rise – people such as Yoyo Cao and Tina Leung. They have such an interesting way of styling their outfits and they come across as very fresh compared to their Western counterparts.”
