In Good Company
Be it homegrown couture or Hollywood boho chic, these five labels from Asia and the US have a thing in common: They’re all at Scotts Square’s multi-label store, Coda Co.

1.THOMAS WEE
It has been three years since his decade-long hiatus ended, but time has not slowed the local designer down. He famously said he was determined to “inject style and fashion back into Singapore’s fashion scene”. First showcased at the Women’s Fashion Week 2011, his latest couture collection features architectural skirts, voluminous trousers and modern evening gowns. Prices unavailable.

2.TIMO WEILAND
American design duo Weiland and Alan Eckstein have mastered the art of breezy bohemian travel-inspired fashion. Find eye-catching, yet wearable pieces like silk chiffon dresses in floral digital prints and fun rompers. $175-$610.

3.KAAL E. SUKTAE
South Korean designer Lee Suk Tae cut his teeth working in the design teams for Sonia Rykiel and Dior early in his career. Now, his globally stocked label (in shops such as hip boutique Seven New York) peddles a brand of futuristic style with historical influences, or what he calls “structural avant-garde”. Think cape mini-dresses reminiscent of the South Korean hanbok and long leather-accented trenchcoats that are part Cold War, part biker gang. $399-$1,689.

4.SHASHI
Globetrotting jewellery lovers Yuvi Alpert and Danna Kobo crossed paths in Miami and their luxe boho bijoux were born. Seen on the wrists of celebrity fans such as Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry, these upscale friendship bracelets juxtapose woven silk cord with semi-precious stones and precious metal beads. $35.90-$149.90.

5.JBB*
The name is derived from the designer’s initials: Jirawat “Bote” Benchakarn. The Thai former fashion buyer’s menswear label is known for its classic lines that are never boring, despite their seeming simplicity. Our picks: shirts in offbeat Japanese-influenced prints and the preppy assortment of checked and polka-dot bowties. $69.90-$215
Coda Co. is at #02-03 Scotts Square.
