How do you trump stage costume history that included pieces like that conical bra from Jean Paul Gaultier? For Madonna, it involves roping in some of the best in the fashion business to create a repertoire of outfits for her Rebel Heart Tour, which opened in Canada last week.

As of last count, the number of designers involved in putting this fashion extravaganza include Singapore-born jewellery designer Lynn Ban, Miuccia Prada, Jeremy Scott, Alexander Wang and Fausto Puglisi. The look, meanwhile, ranges from a Teddy Girl-meets-Harajuku Girl (courtesy of Prada) to Hells’ Angels/Daisy Buchanan (it has Jeremy Scott written all over it) to a Buffalo Girl Frida Kahlo parade (Gucci’s responsible for that).

The outfits are high on details too. The gypsy dress by Gucci (see the Instagram snaps above) comprise a lace and jacquard bodysuit, along with an embroidered lace and a black crepe de Chine skirt embroidered with patches and georgette ruffles. To top it off: A hat made of silk flowers. Ditto Jeremy Scott’s glittery confection – the tulle flapper dress came adorned with Swarovski crystals with matching opera gloves.

All we can say is: Only this pop diva can command such a treatment because, well, b***h, she’s Madonna.
