beyond the vines

WHAT: Officially launching only next month, Beyond The Vines specialises in “stylish everyday wear” is helmed by husband-and-wife duo Daniel Chew and Rebecca Ting, both formerly from the real estate industry. He’s in charge of business development, while she does design and creative direction. The aim is to release four collections a year. They’ve already dropped a Pre-Fall line, and want all the focus to be on it – so much so that they declined to share a photo of themselves.

#1

USP: Modern, understated separates for under $100. The 36-piece Pre-Fall collection includes cotton shirts, pleated A-line skirts and slip dresses ($39-$89) with clean, crisp lines that would appeal to Jil Sander and Cos fans. The soothing colour palette – white, grey, forest green, and powder blue and pink – is meant to make mixing and matching easy; while unexpected details like a pin fastening on the back of a collared shirt lend an intellectual quirk. These are complemented by a range of basic staples like viscose jersey tees.

An adapted version first appeared in Female’s August issue, out on newsstands now.
