Since opening last January in Scotts Square, K+ Curatorial Space has housed numerous art exhibitions and launches (Japanese child artist Mondo Okumura and Hong Kong sculptor Johnson Tsang were just some of the names that were hosted there).

One-and-a-half years later, they’ve moved to larger digs – over 4,000 square feet, to be precise – within the same shopping mall. And with a lot more room to play with now, they’ve divvied up the floor plan into three distinct sections: a gallery, a retail space, and a communal zone. The mission, however, is the same as before: To promote and showcase local talent across art, design, furniture and more.

The gallery’s first exhibitor (Jul 1-Aug 14) is local furniture designer Nathan Yong, a two-time winner of prestigious awards like the Red Dot Concept Design Award and President’s Design Award for Designer of the Year. The items on display, comprising everyday furniture like chairs, tables, shelves and more, are Yong’s interpretation of his visual environment and bear a clean, minimalist aesthetic. Post-show, the pieces will be up for sale exclusively at K+ till February 2017.

On the retail front, K+ has partnered five local companies and brands – independent bookstore BooksActually, social marketing agency Goodstuph, boutique design agency Kinetic, interior store Pomelo, arty retailer Supermama and craft collective Tofu Design – to present a curated edit of lifestyle products, furniture, books and apparel that have been made or designed in Singapore. The Community space, meanwhile, plans to host bazaars that will bring in independent artisans from the region and also allow Singapore designers a platform to showcase their wares. Stay tuned for more details on that front. #03-11 Scotts Square
