These capsule collections are those we would list under our streetwear must-haves and staples. And remember, swag is all about your attitude.
Christian Dada
A summer capsule with four of the brands most popular styles – updated, of course. Those would be the flight jacket, which commemorated the opening of the Singapore flagship; the Oversized tshirt, which does a parody onTaipei’s IT giant Foxconn (this one coincided with the opening of the Taipei flagship); and two all-time favourites from the brand: the oversized flight t-shirt (with a new red colourway) and a skirt from its popular denim range (it’s shorter and chicer now). As always the Christian Dada signature remains, the clothes are simple, fuss-free but never mainstream. The dripping-effect that made its debut for its S/S’18 collection can now be seen on the flight jackets – this time with the words DADA emblazoned across. And that’s about all the reason you should get it.
Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh
This one’s a tad more special because it’s a Singapore exclusive. Called the Rainbow collection , but only the B (from VIBGYOR) is from the rainbow. You would think the name of the collection is self explanatory, what with bands of solid colours juxtaposing merged ones, but, hang on it’s Virgil Abloh we are talking about, so there has to be a relation to trending issues. Sure enough, the colours pink and blue represent the genders (nevertheless, stereotypes) and they seem to fade away into a grey area, in correlation to the topic of the moment: gender inequality. The dominating motif as you can tell is a combination of the Mars and Venus symbols. The cut and shapes of the seven-piece collection have all of the brand’s signatures – industrial and street, with a trendy sophistication.
