What

The jewellery label by former lawyer Marilyn Tan. Tan has been designing jewellery for more than 20 years and works hard at creating earrings, brooches, and necklaces, made out of semi-precious stones and metals from her atelier in Tiong Bahru.

Drawing inspiration from bamboo forests in Japan, dirt roads in Patagonia, and even outer space, its pieces combine a level of sophistication and edginess that would appeal to women of vast ages, think pendants that can double as brooches or bangles, cocktail rings and hinged chokers.

A regular at international trade fairs, the label has been picked up by top international stores like Paul Smith in London and the Chicago Museum of Contemporary Art. Depending on the collection, pieces range from about $59 to $5,000.

What’s new

Classic pearls in not so classic settings, more of Tan’s favourite accessory – the brooch, and new jade pieces.

“Jade bangles are believed to, when worn, protect the wearer; I have clients who are always asking me to reset broken jade bangles, or redesign them for today. As such, I designed a ‘cage’ around the jade, so the jade is protected somewhat by the facetted stones.”
