Body scrubs and wraps are the equivalent of facials for everything from the neck down and, boy, do we have the best four for you. All together now, say aah…

4 Best Body Scrub And Wrap Treatments Ever

Espa Stress Reliever Ritual

It’s exactly that – a ritual – a two-hour epic, but oh-so worth it. The scrub, wrap and massage treatment is the ultimate, especially for highly strung individuals (the entire cast of The Wolf of Wall Street, perhaps?). There’s the full-body dry brushing using a blend of spearmint, aloe vera and crushed apricot kernels. Scrubs tend to leave us feeling cold until we rinse off, but the therapist makes sure coldness doesn’t set in by working on one small area at a time and wiping it with hot towels.

There’s also a 15-minute warming ginger wrap body mask, which feels like a deep-heating ointment to relax stiff and sore muscles, followed
by a 60-minute soothing massage using long, firm strokes. It took longer to finish that DiCaprio movie, but unlike his protagonist, we at least managed some slumber.

Parafango Mineral Mud Wrap

This helps you fit into a body-con outfit, pronto
(by reducing bloating and water retention around the tummy, hips and thighs). The 60-minute session begins with dry brushing and the application of a slimming serum, which feels as though freshly cut chilli is being rubbed onto skin. The sensation, thankfully, doesn’t last as warm mud (a mixture of paraffin and mineral mud) is quickly slathered on with a paintbrush to take away the heat. Swaddled in towels and plastic wrap, we’re strapped into a heated blanket for 20 minutes – cue profuse sweating.

Unlike most mud-based masks, this version doesn’t dry or harden, but turns into a jelly-like rubbery coat that peels off easily. It’s moisturising too – even the driest parts of our heel and elbow feel and look baby soft. Bring on the swimsuit!

Lemon Sugar Body Polish

The treatment takes only about 45 minutes (excluding the time it takes to shower) because it has just two steps, but it still relaxes the muscles and refreshes skin. Step one: a scrub-down with skin-brightening natural sugar and lemon extract using soothing strokes, said to detoxify, boost lymphatic drainage and prevent bloating. Step two: Relax the body using firm strokes and a moisturising, gently scented orchid balm.

Our skin looks significantly brighter, and even extremely dry areas are soft and smooth.

New Moon: An Invigorating and Cleansing Wrap

Although it’s supposed to help rid the body of toxins, we found an additional benefit to this treatment: It instantly reduces the appearance of lumpy cellulite. The 45-minute session begins with deep inhalations of rosemary and juniper essential oil to relax and calm, followed by a cooling mud mask infused with eucalyptus and seaweed.

As the mask does its work, hair and scalp are massaged with a rosemary and cedar wood hair serum. After we clean up, the therapist massages the whole body with a rich and nourishing rose body cream quickly and firmly. We leave feeling light and refreshed, ready to slip into a pair of shorts to show off dimple-free legs.
