#1: “Shattered glass” nails
It first popped up all over Instagram feeds in October, and even landed a story on Vogue.com. These nail art designs, created by Korean manicurist Park Eun Kyung (K-pop stars like Lee Hyori and streetstyle star Irene Kim are amongst her hip clientele) are eye-catching and so easy to recreate (the shimmery effect is achieved through overlaying holographic strips).
#2: Gold lips
Legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath launched her first-ever makeup product, a shimmery gold powder aptly named Gold 001, at Paris Fashion Week and retailed it in October. And while it’s limited edition and currently in the midst of restocking (only 1,000 were produced in the first batch), the Instagram photos here from Prada’s Spring Summer ’16 show are the perfect moodboard for a Mad Men-inspired bash.
#3: Rainbow-coloured hair
For cool-girl ease that’s effortless and not too try-hard, look to Korean-American model Irene Kim and her ever-changing hair colours, which are picked out by her hair guru Sunwoo Kim at Soonsoo Hair Saloon in Seoul, Korea. If you’re not too keen on going all out with colourful dip-dyed locks – silvery hues are also hot right now.
#4: Hair tattoos
Move over, hair accessories: Take a leaf out of Kylie Jenner’s book and try a metallic hair tattoo instead. Match this with boho chic pieces (see some of the chic-est fringed dresses and accessories to have this season), or with minimalist wardrobe staples that are great for winter. We also like the no-fuss application (just add water) and how it plays up dark-coloured tresses beautifully.
