6 Beauty Products You Need For Your Next Yoga Session

Here's a list of must-have beauty products to pack for your next (and future) yoga sessions

Yoga has great appeal among Singaporeans and has been growing in popularity every year. It’s great with helping to stretch out the tension that has set in from sitting at our desks the entire day. Not only does it promote physical wellness, it improves your mental well-being as well.

While we scuttle to and from yoga sessions, the last thing we want to do is to have added stress from deciding what products to bring along with us for that post-session pick me up. Here’s our list of six must-bring beauty products to tote to your next session.

Senka A.L.L. Clear Sheets Makeup Remover Wipes, $3.50 for 10 sheets
These cleansing sheets from Senka double as both makeup remover wipes  and help you freshen up after your yoga session – thanks to its signature natural silk cocoon essence and hyaluronic acid that have heavyweight moisturising properties. Plus, the sheets are not too big (about the size of your palm) and make for an ideal compact carry-on beauty essential. Shiseido HydroBB Compact, $45
A sunscreen that offers stronger UV protection the more you perspire is a godsend for anyone who exercises. That’s why we love this tinted sunscreen from Shiseido – it’s mess-free and allows for easy touch-ups. There’re also a bunch of benefits that come with its high-tech formula. It forms a film on your skin that prevents perspiration from pooling and even has what the brand calls contouring powders that help reflect light and give the illusion of a sharper, slimmer face.  The compact is also dermatologist-tested, consists of a non-comedogenic formula and comes in five tinted shades. Biore UV Athlizm Skin Protect Essence, $24.90
If you’re not one for wearing make up during your yoga session, this oil-free face and body sunscreen is great for a light touch up on sun protection. Specially formulated for outdoor sports, it is friction and sweat-resistant, and is said to hold up even under high temperatures and humidity (perfect for those who love hot yoga). It also has hyaluronic acid and royal jelly extract to help hydrate skin, and is extremely lightweight. Frances Prescott Tri-Balm, $66
If you haven’t tried a cleansing stick before, you’re missing out on its convenience. It’s mess-free (no spillage) and makes for a great travel, gym and yoga beauty option. This one from makeup artist and facialist, Frances Prescott, cleanses, exfoliates and moisturises in a single step, and you can even choose to rinse or tissue it off. And it’s also super nourishing for your skin, with a blend of oils such as sunflower seed, sweet almond kernel, wheat germ and rice bran, to name a few. Soleil Toujours Organic Aloe Antioxidant Calming Mist, $38
Any type of exercise that gets your blood pumping will likely cause reddened skin, especially if your skin is sensitive. If you’re looking for a quick fix to calm your skin down, your best bet is to spritz on a soothing facial mist. This mist cools, soothes and hydrates skin immediately, and helps provide antioxidant benefits that combat free radical damage from external aggressors. Aesop Herbal Deodorant Roll-On, $45
Unless you’re heading out for dinner or drinks (or to work, if you’re a morning yoga person), you would likely prefer to head home and have a slow and relaxing shower instead of a quick rinse at the yoga studio. This alcohol-free, roll-on deodorant has sage leaf, zinc ricinoleate (an odour-absorbing agent) and wasabi extract to reduce and mask odours to make your journey home a little more pleasant. We like its gender-neutral, herbaceous fragrance too.
