#1: Statement eyes
Margiela’s origami-inspired look had an ethereal quality; Louis Vuitton’s “deconstructed lashes” meant that there was no need for falsies and Chanel’s spray-paint effect around the eye area (even on the brows) gave the impression that models were wearing eye masks a la Hit-Girl in Kick Ass.
#2: Choppy, thick bangs
To achieve the cool-girl look, hair was slicked back tightly save for the helmet-like fringe that was cut bluntly and gelled so it had a 3D effect.
#3: The slicked-back braided ‘do
The ultimate girly look turned into something with a more bad*ss vibe at Celine – think Lara Croft – thanks to the swept-back fringe and tightly plaited braid down the nape.
#4: Dark ombre lips
On Miu Miu girls, lips were given a subtle two-toned treatment: a dark burgundy in the centre outlined by a deep cherry red. The result: Less gothic, more on-trend.
#5: Sleek, shiny hair
Dior and Sacai models sported lush, frizz-free locks parted neatly down the centre. Sure, the look might not be mind-blowing, but we love its freshness and ease.
To complement Valentino’s African-inspired SS ’16 collection, Redken global creative director Guido Palau turned models into fierce warrior princesses, giving them tight cornrows that were also loosely draped around bunned-up hair.
