Expert tip: Oils are great for moisturising, and this is the lip equivalent – more hydrating than a balm or cream, as shiny as gloss but without the stickiness, and (to take things up a notch) leaves a subtle wash of colour. Take Clarins’ Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil ($36), which is infused with hazelnut and organic jojoba oils to hydrate, protect and soothe chapped lips, lasting longer and working faster than most regular lip products. The hues? #01 Honey appears almost translucent; #02 Raspberry is a light pinkish tinge; and #03 Red Berry, a sweet, rosy finish – which brings us to another tip: Apply a thick layer overnight to wake up to significantly smoother, softer and oh-so-pretty puckers.
