aesthetic treatment

Aesthetic treatments like botox and fillers are the undisputed kings of beauty. In fact, they’ve become so popular that they’re now a common “lunchtime” treatment. Just pop in, get a few jabs and you’re good to go. Instantaneous (and obvious) results, what’s not to love?

But there’s a new treatment that just might join their ranks. A few months ago, I started hearing from friends and beauty industry insiders (including three beauty editors) raving about the Rejuran Healer. The common consensus amongst everyone: your complexion will look obviously healthier and feel much smoother.

I was intrigued and did a little digging. Basically, the Rejuran Healer injects nucleotides – harvested from salmon DNA – into the dermis layer of your skin using microneedles. Nucleotides are the building blocks of your DNA, and by giving them a boost you actually help to increase microcirculation, stimulate growth factors, regenerate ageing and damaged skin cells while enhancing the skin’s elasticity.

As someone who is obsessed with my skin, I obviously gave it a try. Because you’ll be receiving about 80 injections, a numbing cream is first applied to your face for about 30 minutes. A doctor will then administer the injections all over your face using a micro-needle for more comfort. This portion of the treatment only took about 10 to 15 minutes because each injection was applied fairly quickly with shallow jabs. And despite the number of jabs I received, it was surprisingly bearable thanks to the numbing cream.aesthetic treatment
A cooling sheet mask was then placed on my face for about 15 minutes, and Photodynamic Light Therapy was applied to reduce any redness and irritation. When I first left the clinic, my complexion looked red and bumpy, almost as if I had mosquito bites all over my face. However, within a few hours, the bumps went down and looked more like tiny red freckles. By the third day, no one could tell I had any injections done at all.

I started to notice the results about a week after trying the Rejuran Healer. My complexion looked significantly more radiant and felt softer and smoother with less obvious pores. It’s already been more than a month, and my normally sensitive skin feels healthier, and I haven’t seen even an occasion pimple popping out anywhere. While the results might not be as immediate as botox, it’s definitely as effective. I can totally see why this treatment is currently the hottest thing in beauty right now.

The Rejuran Healer treatment ($599 per session) is available at the Wellness Clinic (#04-01 Wheelock Place), Tel: 6732 0812.
