beauty packing list#1: Sunscreen

Being under the sun for hours can cause some serious damage to your skin. And if you think the SPF in your tinted moisturiser or foundation is good enough, think again. Be sure to keep a sunscreen spray or mist in your bag so that you can reapply it while at the festival. Choose a mattifying sunscreen to help reduce shine and protect your skin from harmful UV rays. If you can’t seem to get your hands on a sunscreen spray, a stick sunscreen is useful too. It will also help you get to trickier spots easily such as your ears, chest and neck.

#2: Lip Balm

C’mon, do you really want to have dry, chapped lips? So make sure to stash a lip balm (one that contains SPF would be awesome) in your bag and if you don’t feel like carrying another lip product with you, go for a tinted one. They not only nourish, soften and moisturise but also give colour to your puckers. Think of them as a lighter version of a glossy lipstick but with double the skin-loving benefits.

#3: A hydrating mist

Whether you want to freshen up a dull complexion or moisturise dehydrated skin, facial mists will do the job for you. They don’t just deliver moisture to your skin throughout the day, they also help to lower your skin’s temperature to soothe and calm it. It is also a great pick-me-up when you’re feeling tired and lethargic during the music festival.

#4: A cushion compact

If you find that your base makeup is sliding off your skin by midday, reapply it using a cushion compact. It is hassle-free and can easily be kept in your festival bag. From longlasting yet lightweight cushion compacts to hydrating ones, there’ll definitely be one that suits your skin type. Some even provide skin-soothing benefits to ensure your skin stays refreshed and calm throughout the festival.

#5: Hair mist

Besides your complexion, your hair too may tend to look dull and frizzy as the day goes by (and especially so when you’re grooving to your favourite tunes outdoor, pushing people around to snag a good spot in front or just partying the afternoon away). Take with you a travel-sized bottle of hair mist to freshen up your hair, give it a great scent and also protect your locks against damage from environmental elements like the sun, saltwater and chlorine.
