If you are a beauty junkie like us, then you probably have tried tons of different makeup products. From crazy eyeshadow colours to fun lipstick shades (with different finishes too), we love experimenting with our makeup. However, it’s not always easy finding the perfect shade. Some hues may not be suitable for our skin tone and may even make our complexion seem darker and duller while others help to brighten and enhance our features. To understand what sort of colours fits us best, it’s important to know our skin tone. But if you’re still unsure of yours, here’s where you can get it checked (together with a lippie shade that best suits you).
Etude House’s Colour Factory has finally made its overseas debut at the Wisma Atria flagship store. Here at the store, you can choose from a whopping 240 different shades of lipsticks to find the best match for your skin tone. There’s even a consultation service to help you pick out your ideal shade. Bonus: You can even choose a case (and get it engraved) after the consultation.
The consultation takes about 50 minutes (including choosing your lipstick case and fonts for engraving.) But besides just finding the right lip colour, the consultation also helps you figure out the best types of colours you should use whether beauty or fashion. Here, we give you a rundown on how this in-depth consultation goes.
The session starts off with a skin analysis using the colour finder device (do note that you have to remove your makeup for a more accurate result), which will determine whether you have a cool, warm or neutral skin tone. The beauty consultant will then check your original hair colour and proceed to recommend different types of makeup looks that are ideal for your skin type according to the device.
Next, it’s time to find out your seasonal colour (Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter) through a colour draping service. The beauty consultant will hang different coloured fabrics (depending on whether you are warm or cool toned) to determine which types of colours help enhance your features and brighten skin tone.
Once that’s done, the beauty consultant will present a few trays of either matte or glossy lipstick shades (based on the results of the skin analysis and colour draping service) for you to choose from (you can pick up to four). She will then swatch each shade, which you can then try out on your own puckers. After choosing the shade that’s ideal for you, the making of the lipstick begins. While waiting, pick a case and the words you’d like to engrave it on.
The Colour Factory sessions are strictly by appointment only and customers can book their slots on Vaniday, Lazada or call 6737 2460. There are four available options: colour consulting and a personalised lipstick ($58), two personalised lipsticks ($68), a personalised lipstick and a Double Lasting Foundation ($78) or two personalised lipstick and a Double Lasting Foundation ($88).
