Are You Using The Best Sunscreen For Your Skin Type?

Instead of using just any sunblock, we put together a list of some of our favourite sunscreens to use depending on your skin type.

Everyone needs a good sunscreen and if you’re not one to apply some every day, then you should definitely start now. Without SPF protection, your skin is exposed to the harmful UV rays emitted from light. This causes premature ageing, dark spots, dryness and pigmentation. While the effects are not immediate, over time – and if you don’t use any form of sun protection – your skin condition will begin to worsen.

Apart from just applying sunscreen, it’s always important to choose one that best fits your skin type. If you have sensitive and acne-prone skin, chances are, it may be difficult to find one that won’t break out on you or further damage your complexion. For oilier skin types, using one that contains oil will just end up clogging your pores, leading to congestion and acne. So here, we put together a list of some of our favourite sunscreens to use depending on your skin type.

#1: Anessa Whitening UV Sunscreen Gel SPF 50+ PA++++, $32.90
Combination skin With a lightweight, gel texture, this is perfect for those with combination skin types as it does not leave your skin feeling greasy or oily but still hydrates at the same time. Bonus: it is reportedly water and sweat-proof. Made with 50 per cent skincare ingredients including the brand’s Super Hyaluronic Acid, glycerin and collagen, this effectively moisturises and protects skin against sun damage and ageing. It is even formulated with a unique brightening essence that helps to suppress melanin production to slow down and prevent the formation of dark spots. #2: Lancome UV Expert Tone Up Milk, $95
