Pore problems are probably one of the most prevalent skin woes in Singapore. After all, our climate seems to be an ideal breeding ground for blackheads and whiteheads. When the heat and humidity causes skin to produce too much sebum, your pores dilate to help eliminate the excess. However, dirt and debris can get stuck in them. And if that’s not bad enough, the excess sebum leads to more clogging, forming a comedone. If the skin over the comedone stays closed, it becomes a whitehead. If the skin over it is open, exposure to air will cause it to darken and form a blackhead.
One of the ways to get rid of these pesky bumps is to use a pore strip. And if like me, you’ve succumbed to the convenience of pasting and ripping, then you can probably relate to why I find this viral video so fascinating. It shows in graphic detail a slow motion close-up of how the strips remove the dirt, oil and debris from your nose. Since its release mid-last year, the video has racked up almost three million views on Youtube. Check out the full clip below, but I have to warn you, don’t do it on a full stomach.
