Bobbi Brown Cosmetic’s Asia Pacific Artistry Manager Felix Nguyen shares makeup tips and the hottest eye and lip colours in K-Beauty this season.

Bobbi Browns Makeup Guru Felix Nguyen Shares

Biggest beauty trends: “For K-Beauty, it’s about coral and orange lips now. Last season, pink was “in”, but now the must-have colour is coral. It’s a trend that’s rather specific to Asia because it goes well with warm skin tones. Globally, I was at New York Fashion Week where I helped create the looks for New York-based labels Tibi and Mischa Nonoo. The top three makeup trends here were perfect skin, a defined eye (the bolder and thicker eyeliner is, the better) and nude lips.”

How to get a flawless complexion: “Use the right foundation for your skintone. It’s important to get a makeup artist to try different shades on your face (and not your hands) to see what suits your skin best. Also, a corrector concealer for dark circles under the eyes (try these under-eye creams and serums too) is necessary because it can help you look awake even if you haven’t had enough sleep. Don’t forget moisturiser too as it keeps skin plump and glowing all day long.”

Bobbi Browns Makeup Guru Felix Nguyen On Why Coral Is In And More

Favourite Bobbi Brown Cosmetics make-up item: “The Sandy Nudes eye palette (above, $108). The colours are based on different types of sand around the world, which founder Bobbi herself collected on her travels. (In terms of texture) you can choose matte, sparkly or shimmery, and it comes with a handy eyeshadow and eyeliner brush as well.”

#1 must-have lipstick shade for everyday: “One that matches your natural lip colour. First, it will go with any makeup style you go for, whether it’s a smoky eye or a no-makeup look. Second, you don’t need a mirror to apply it since it’s close to your natural lip shade.”

Best way to apply blusher: “Smile with teeth, and apply the blusher to the apples of your cheeks, then blend it up – either with your fingers or with a brush – to the hairline. This helps you look more natural, and it also lifts the face as well to add dimension.”
