In 2016, Chanel gave us its interpretation of a matte liquid lip when it debuted its Rouge Allure Ink collection that had 19 velvety, soft matte lip colours. But, the brand’s not done. This August 29, its first long-lasting ultra-matte liquid lipstick – the Rouge Allure Ink Fusion – will populate the shelves of its boutiques (and September 6 for its counters). What can we expect? A sophisticated 12-shade lipstick wardrobe that ranges from the most natural of nudes to the most vibrant red.
Ultra-matte doesn’t mean that it’s drying though. The lipstick comes in a fluid texture made of a savvy blend of polymers and gel. Enriched with soft oils, it fuses quickly with the lips for an undetectable, makeup-free finish. It’s said to sit on the lips like a comfortable, velvety second-skin coating. The brand chalks the velvet finish up to the mattifying silica microbeads that are in the formula.
The Rouge Allure Ink Fusion lippies also double up as a form of lip care when they’re on the lips, thanks to its antioxidant-infused combination of Sappan wood and vitamin E. They keep the lips silky and protected while ensuring that its high concentration of ultra-fine pigments delivers radiant, intense colour.
Also updated in this release: the packaging the lipsticks are housed in, as well as the newly-improved applicator. To reflect the product’s elegance and intensity, the formula now comes in a luxe frosted glass tube that’s topped with a matte black cap. The refreshed shape of the applicator was specially designed by Chanel to make it much more curved, streamlined and sharper so that it precisely embraces the lips for easy application.

The OG Rouge Allure Ink line will receive additions to its existing shades too. Expect six new metallic finishes and six other shades in matte finishes, as seen below.
Come September 20 to 22, discover the new family members of the Rouge Allure Ink collection – that will be available at $52 each – at the brand’s Rouge Allure Ink Fusion event which will be held at its ION Orchard store.
