You’d think that Gucci Beauty’s done with stunning all of us with its launches this year, but that’s where all of us are wrong. The fashion house debuted the first of its makeup offerings – since its rebirth under Alessandro Michele, that is – in September this year with an impressive lineup of 58 lippies in three different finishes (a satin one, a sheer cream one and a tinted balm one). And subsequently, it gave us a smaller festive-timed drop that saw of two shining, shimmering, splendid shades – the line’s signature Goldie Red and a fun turquoise shade called Fay Turquoise – in metallic finishes.
With its past lip launches leaning towards much more luminous finishes, there will soon be something for matte lippie lovers too. Come Dec 15, expect 28 new pieces of the Rouge a Levres Mat to fill the shelves of Gucci Beauty’s counter at Takashimaya. Look out for gold metal-hued tubes that spot narrow, ribbed grooves (not to be confused with a similar-looking gold tube with art deco-inspired motif). The formula on the inside, however, is one that’s smooth, velvety and glides on easily. Read: it’s not a drying matte that will make your lips crack.
Take a closer look at the shades that will be available in the gallery above. Just like the previous colour-rich rosters, this one’s just as varied in its shade selection.
