Launched in October, the service dishes out monthly packages of up to three beauty products to its subscribers every month (you won’t know what you’ll receive till you open it up). Its Singaporean co-founder Louisa Chng says that lipstick is one item she can’t live without, which led her to come up with the idea of establishing a brand that would send makeup to women to encourage them to step out of their comfort zones and try a different shade or product more regularly.
The products in every box are reportedly formulated using technology and ingredients from Korea. The XPrecision Lips line contains Korean light-diffusing technology to hide lip cracks and imperfections, while the limited edition Boldlicious HD range has high-definition colour technology so lipstick shades are richer and brighter. Apart from makeup, the service also provides lip care products such as the Lip Night Repair Oil and the Softening Mask (it helps exfoliate and smoothen your puckers).
We had the chance to try out some of the products, and found the XPRecision Lips lipstick in subtle mocha to be a very wearable pinkish brown shade. Its formula also has a sweet-smelling scent. We also tried the brand’s Lip Bronzer Gel, which provides a subtle shimmer over any lip colour of your choosing. The Lip Night Repair Oil comes in a clear, transparent liquid with a roller ball applicator, and lips felt more hydrated immediately after applying them.
Every box comes in a hot pink colour and products are neatly wrapped – definite plus points in our books. Another highlight: Each item comes with a card describing how to use it, and even tips on when to wear that particular shade. And they’re all available at a very affordable price point – from $12.99 for one product a month to $22.99 for two products and $30.99 for three. Find out more here
