Forget The 10-Step Korean Skincare Routine — Skip-Care Is What They're Into Now

Hint: they are now taking the mantra less is more very seriously.

Trust the South Koreans to come up with the most innovative skincare trends, which we all tend to end up giving a go at one point or another. One we all know: the 10 step Korean skincare regime. But truth be told, not all of us are able to commit to it especially after a long day when all you want to do is get into bed. And with the party season coming up, slathering 10 different products on our skin in the wee hours of the morning is not really ideal. For those that prefer a more concise routine (or those looking to downsize it), this new trend is something you will definitely love.

Known as skip-care, the idea is to streamline your routine and only use products your skin really needs. So while it consists of lesser steps, it is still as effective. This skincare trend has been really popular among the millennial Koreans as they are constantly strapped for time and prefer a routine that requires less effort. Don’t get us wrong though — the key here is to apply products that offer multiple benefits so your skin still gets the essential vitamins and nutrients it needs.

More importantly, you need to know and understand your skin type and the concerns you want to treat so as to pick the right products. For example, if your skin feels dehydrated and looks dull, opt for serums or creams that help to boost moisture and radiance so you will wake up with a plump and radiant complexion.

Above, we pick out some of the products to help you get started with a leaner skincare regime.

#1: Porcelain Intensive HA+ Hydrating Serum, $198
