Two things we discover about Lucia Pieroni when interviewing her recently in Venice, Italy: Her droll sense of humour and the wealth of knowledge she possesses on all things beauty. Here, everything from her go-to skincare products to her latest art investment:
MOST WEARABLE LIP COLOUR “Cle de Peau Beaute’s Enriched Lip Luminizer in #233 (above, left). It’s a shade that can be universally worn (no matter what your skin tone is). The texture is watery, not creamy, and it moisturises lips well. Wearing it makes you look like you’ve just eaten a lollipop (and accidentally stained your lips).”
FAVOURITE SKINCARE “Cle de Peau Beaute’s La Creme moisturiser, which is a little rich, but works on my skin really well. I also love the Gentle Cleansing Foam (above, middle) because it’s quite mild, and the makeup remover wipes are an absolute must because getting mascara off is simply impossible (for me).”
MOST FREQUENTED BEAUTY STORES “Online e-tailer Cult Beauty, which stocks products recommended by celebrities and industry insiders, (such as) English brand The Organic Pharmacy for its all-natural, herbal skincare; and New York drugstore Ricky’s for makeup that isn’t easily available elsewhere.”
GO-TO HAIR SALON “The King’s Canary in central London. My friend does my hair and (the result is always) amazing.”
LATEST ART INVESTMENT “A line figure drawing of a woman by British artist Tracey Emin, which I bought a year ago. Behind the woman is a black blob and the phrase ‘I like the black stuff’. It resonated with me once I laid eyes on it, so I purchased it on the spot.”
RECENT DISCOVERY “The Aman Canal Grande Venice hotel in Venice, Italy, which has a gorgeous interior of beautifully restored frescoes (which were first painted in the 19th century).”
MOST INSPIRING CITY “Paris, for its illustrious history and art. Its vibe is a mix of renowned German-Australian fashion photographer Helmut Newton (known for his erotic pictures) and Spanish artist
Picasso (famed for his cubist works), because you’re free to express your creativity in so many ways.”
