luxe facial

The Treatment

This begins with a thorough double cleanse, after which a soothing lavender oil is applied onto my face using pressure point massage to prep skin for the rest of the facial. A three-step peel infused with AHAs (acids that exfoliate and get rid of dead skin cells) and BHAs (acids that penetrate into pores to treat blackheads and acne) is then smoothed on skin with a brush and left on for 10 minutes. After the peel is wiped off, the therapist uses a vibrating massage tool all over my face for 15 minutes. It is said to help relax facial muscles, boost microcirculation and reduce inflammation. A Diamond Experience Biomarker Nectar, which supposedly boosts cell regeneration and luminuousity, is then massaged into skin for another 15 minutes. An LED mask that emits infrared light is then placed over my face to help stimulate collagen production and minimise the appearance of wrinkles. I am then treated to a refreshing gel-cream mask infused with pearl and gold extracts to firm, tighten brighten skin. The mask is cleansed off after 15 minutes and basic skincare is applied as a finishing touch.

The Verdict

This is one of those facials that is jam-packed, but in a good way. It’s chock full of different treatments and different massages so you really feel like you’re getting your money’s worth. I felt totally spoiled throughout the process and left with a significantly smoother, softer and fairer complexion. $642, Adeva Spa (#06-22/23/24 Paragon), tel: 6836-9988
