Five must-have items from Shiseido
Pony (P): “Firstly, the Synchro Skin Glow Cushion is super easy to use and great for beginners. It has a natural finish and light to medium coverage. I would also recommend the Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush as it is really longlasting and does not wear off easily even in humid climates like Singapore. Thirdly, the Aura Dew. It is a multi-tasking product, which you can use on different parts of your face and body such as your cheeks, the bridge of your nose, chin, cupid’s bow and even your shoulders. The Visionary Gel Lipstick also gets my vote as I really love how hydrating it is even though it has a matte texture. It’s really pigmented too. Lastly, I would pick the Essentialist Eye Palette. It has four different colours with different finishes from mattes to shimmers. It is great for beginners.”

Her favourite lip and blush shades from the brand
P: “I really love the Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush in #6. It is a very wearable and versatile rosy pink that will suit any skin tone. Lipstick-wise, I’d choose the Vision Airy Gel Lipstick in #222 Ginza Red. It is an orangey-red that adds a pop of colour and can even brighten your complexion.”
Pro tip: Practice is key
P: “It’s really important to practice when it comes to makeup. When you get home after a long day, you can actually practice and create different looks before removing your makeup. It’s important to try different colours and products with different textures, and change up your eye makeup look.”
Beauty tips and hacks
P: “Firstly, I really like my eyebrows to be symmetrical and to do this, there are actually many apps that you can download on your phone to help you ensure your eyebrows look precise and similar. Skincare-wise, I don’t really use any scrubs to exfoliate as I have sensitive skin and instead, I use products that contain AHA once every three weeks. Lastly, I really love using an eyeshadow brush for many other purposes. For example, I use it to highlight my cheekbones and even my lips.”
A smudged lip look is her favourite trend
P: “It’s not a recent trend and it actually became big last year, but I really love the smudged lip look. All you have to do is smudge the edges of your lipstick — not too much, of course.”
How one can achieve a gorgeous glow with makeup
P: “When it comes to achieving a more radiant complexion, it’s important to choose a base makeup that does not have high coverage as that may look cakey overtime. Opt for a base with less coverage but that’s more lightweight and natural like Shiseido’s Synchro Skin Glow Cushion Compact.”
Where she draws inspiration for her makeup tutorials
P: “I get my inspiration from stones and I actually collect them. My favourite is moonstones.”
