The Miss Dior Edition d’Exception is decorated with a bow created by master artisans from the French brand’s couture atelier.
Limited edition? For sure. There’s only 25 of these in the world.
If you’ve always wanted to own a couture piece but can’t bear to splurge six figures on a dress, then you’re going to want to get this. Christian Dior’s first fragrance – Miss Dior – is now getting a high fashion makeover. Originally created by the brand’s namesake founder in 1947, its iconic metal bow is now being replaced with a gorgeous lace bow inspired by the Miss Dior dress.
True to the spirit of Dior Haute Couture, the Miss Dior Edition d’Exception is adorned with a white and pink bow designed, and made, entirely by hand by master artisans as its handiwork demanded extreme precision – 5.5 metres of lace is needed to make just 25 bows. A unique glazing technique, borrowed from the art of watercolour painting, gives the lace its soft shade and incredibly subtle hues. Each floral motif is then cut, dyed and folded by hand, before being placed on the thick, double-sided “leather” satin from Japan that forms the base of the Miss Dior swallowtail bow.
As a final touch, a border in a slightly darker shade of pink is hand painted to the edges of each flower motif. In all, each tailor-made bow requires over five hours to assemble. Miss Dior Edition d’Exception 200ml costs $3,200 and will be exclusively sold at the Dior boutique in MBS. There are 25 numbered pieces worldwide and only one is available in Singapore.
