Skipping out on crucial skincare steps is definitely a bad beauty habit you should definitely leave behind as 2019 rolls around. But with the party season upon us, coming home completely knackered, tired and unwilling to slather anything on your skin might just be the case. What we recommend is to use products that help treat more than just one concern, so you will minimise the time spent — while maximising the efficacy of your routine. And if you really can’t bring yourself to do anything but sleep, these are the bare minimum skincare steps you should at least do before heading to bed.

#1: Cleanse

The worst thing you could possibly do is sleep with a full face of makeup on. It will cause congestion, unwanted breakouts and will deteriorate your skin’s overall condition. Opt for a gentle cleanser that is not too harsh, but still effectively removes all the dirt and grime on the skin. #2: Toner

Toners help to remove remaining dirt and grime left behind and some even balance the skin’s pH levels. Others help to boost skin’s moisture levels, and prep skin for the rest of your skincare routine.

#3: Moisturiser

Ask any beauty editor, expert or industry insider and they will probably tell you that applying a moisturiser is one step that you really should never skip out on. Hydration is key when it comes to plump, dewy complexions and a lack of moisture can lead to wrinkles, lines and sagging skin. And since alcohol dehydrates skin, replenishing it with the moisture it needs is essential.
