Once gel manicures became the hottest nail here (they hardly chip and last for weeks), we knew it’d be only a matter of time before this happened: a DIY gel manicure kit, where you can create your own gel manicures in the comfort of your own home – gel manicure hen’s party, anyone?

Etude House’s newly launched Enamel Ting Gel Nails collection includes a LED gel lamp ($99), gel nail cleanser and gel nail remover (both $5.90). There are also 35 shades of gel nail polish ($9.90 each) ranging from soft pastel hues to edgy ones, and all have been formulated with extra volume so nails look more shiny. Get Gel Nails Done At Home With Etude Houses New Collection 2

How this works: After sanding your nails with the sanding block (you have to buy this separately), use the nail cleanser to remove excess moisture. Apply one coat of base gel, then heat nails under the LED lamp for 45 seconds. Wipe off any sticky residue with the cleanser, and apply one coat of gel colour and heat it under the LED lamp for another 45 seconds. To make colours pop, just swipe on another layer. Finish by applying the top gel and heat nails under the LED lamp again for 45 seconds.

To remove them, file the top surface of nails with a nail file and place cotton pads soaked in the gel remover on nails and wrap it with aluminium foil. After 10 to 15 minutes, scrape the gel off and use the sanding block to remove any excess. Voila.
