For over a decade, luxury beauty brand La Mer has been committed to supporting the protection of ocean habitats through charitable donations, awareness-raising initiatives and local marine beautification projects.

Today, La Mer is focusing its ocean protection efforts with a new pledge to protect the ocean, which has long been the muse for the brand. The La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund focuses on supporting Marine Protected Areas and strengthening its ongoing ocean conservation efforts around the globe.

Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) are protected areas of seas, oceans, estuaries or large lakes. MPAs restrict human activity for a conservation purpose, typically to protect natural or cultural resources.

Working in partnership with ocean conservation organisation Project 0, La Mer sponsored an art trail to help effect real change for the ocean through art, awareness and connectivity.

The La Mer Wave Walk in aid of Project 0 included 50 works of art designed by artists, tastemakers and conservationists. The art installations were be unveiled throughout New York City leading up to World Oceans Day on June 8. Culminating with an auction, 100 per cent of the net proceeds from the auction went to La Mer Blue Heart Oceans Fund and Project 0 to help support restoring and protecting MPAs around the world.

Each year, as a representation of the brand’s commitment to ocean conservation, La Mer creates a limited edition Creme de la Mer jar. Decorated with a wave motif, the ultra-nourishing Limited Edition Blue Heart Creme de la Mer is available now for $770.
