The Female beauty team is a big fan of soothing scented candles (see what associate beauty editor Shuying picked in our list of citrus-scented products that help you destress). So we were stoked to find out that our selection has just become wider, thanks to the launch of Swedish fragrance house Byredo at local beauty store Escentials (#03-02/05 Paragon Shopping Centre).
While the brand offers perfumes, colognes, oils and other body care products, it’s the candles that we adore the most. Each one strikes the right balance of fruity, floral and woody – for example, Bohemia has creamy notes of rosemary and vanilla, while Loveless is more sensual, with notes of mandarin and black cedarwood.
Local tea brand The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. has also recently ventured into beauty by teaming up with local perfumer To Be Calm to create a boxed set of three city-themed candles ($60). Titled The Romance Of Travel, each comes with a unique tea-inspired scent, from Singapore Sunrise’s vibrant passionfruit, mango and green tea infusion; Love in Paris’ musky mix of roses and chamomile; and London Carousel’s sweet-smelling caramel and black tea blend.
Also retailing individually at $23 each, these will be available in mid-Sep at Level 1 Robinsons The Heeren and Basement 1 Tangs at Tangs Plaza.
