It’s no secret that Nars’ ‘Orgasm’ and ‘Hidden Pleasure’ are cult classics. The perennial favourites now come in limited edition mini sizes that’s part of The Private Paradise Collection as well. These hydrating balms deliver a light wash of colour to your lips along with a punch of hydration — thanks to the Monoi Hydrating Complex that harvests the moisturising properties of monoi oil. What do you do when you love the shine of a lacquer, the colour intensity and wear of a tint, and the comfort of a lipstick? You turn to Giorgio Armani’s Beauty Ecstasy Laquer. At the heart of its durability, shine, and suppleness, is the ethylcellulose coating polymer. It creates a resilient and protective structure on the lips that encases them in a satiny hydrated state for eight hours. If you’d ask us, we’d say that a My Lips But Better (MLBB) shade is one of the lip shades that are highly perdurable. There’s really nothing to dislike about a lippie that makes your lips look better than your bare lips without trying too hard. This July, Shu Uemura’s emblematic lipsticks are released in eight new iterations — from purple sweet potato to brick rose — in the limited edition Nobara collection. YSL Beaute Vernis A Levres Water Stain, $52m in 18 shades, from YSL Beaute
This liquid lip stain that offers buildable intensity is the latest addition to the YSL Beaute family. The formula, 40 per cent of which is water, goes on like a thin film that envelops the lips to give a long-lasting, glossy-but-not-sticky finish. One layer gives a light splash of colour, and two to three layers give more intense colour payoff. There are 18 shades comprising nude, orange, pink and reds, but the brand’s global beauty director Tom Pecheux, who created all the shades, recommends #603 In Berry Deep as this season’s must-have colour because “it works on every skin tone”. Bronzers are the easiest and best solution if you want to avoid sun exposure (for fear of UV damage and premature skin ageing, of course) yet still want to look like you have a healthy tan. This liquid bronzer can be mixed with your face serum, oil or moisturiser and applied in one shot to get that bronzy glow. Just one drop is all you need. Or you can apply it to any part of your body too. Plus, the formula is rich in antioxidants to give your skin that extra boost of defense against pollution and environmental stressors. Like most of the Luna ranges from the brand, this nifty cleansing device comes in three colour-coded variants — pearl pink for normal skin types, lavender for sensitive skin types, and blue for those with combination skin. The difference this time round is that the device is 100 per cent app-enabled, so it syncs with the Foreo app to operate at your preferred pulsation intensity (there are 16 to choose from) during cleansing and the firming massage routine after that — and even lets you find your Luna using the “Find My Luna” feature so you never have to worry about misplacing your device. The silicone touchpoints on this new device are also designed to reach even-harder-to-reach spots for a deeper and more effective cleanse, and the battery can last up to 650 uses per charge. New brand alert: Melvita is a hair, face and body care clean beauty brand founded in 1983, and is now under the L’Occitane group. The products are formulated with sustainably sourced organic ingredients and made in a ISO-certified factory in France, without controversial synthetic chemicals. We hear that the brand’s star products are a rose floral water ($48 for 200ml) to tone, refresh and hydrate skin; a multipurpose 100 per cent cold-pressed argan oil ($44 for 50ml); and a serum-lotion ($44 for 100ml) made from 100 per cent natural rose that has micro-hyaluronic acid to help hydrate and plump up skin. Fresh Vitamin Nectar Glow Juice Antioxidant Face Serum, $45 for 15ml, from Fresh and Sephora
This face serum is packed with nutrients like a superfood juice drink. A blend of vitamins C, E, and B5, and botanical juices, oil and water help brighten skin, and keep it hydrated, firm and nourished. These active ingredients are encapsulated in microbubbles (there are over 480,000 in this 15ml bottle) to keep them fresh and intact until you spread the serum out on your skin, to maximise the potency and efficacy of the product. This is the fragrance which wants you to close your eyes, take a breather, and discover your inner harmony. With top notes of apple and lemon, middle notes of frangipani, white jasmine and orange flower, and base notes of cedar, musk and sandalwood, this is a feminine, refreshing and floral scent. Perfumer Michelle Defina paints a picture about navigating deep ocean trenches and “finding that lush garden that is filled with all of your most favourite flowers”, to describe the inspiration for the fragrance. Skincare rituals, as it appears, are no longer restricted to women. Dior’s new moisturiser for men is an extension of its bath and body line, and uses the eponymous fragrance’s clean, citrus signature notes. The melting cream can be applied to the face, hands and body, and has a mattifying effect which is great for men because their skin tends to be on the oilier spectrum. It also has 100 per cent natural cactus as one of its ingredients, to help nourish skin and help fight against signs of ageing. Plus, it is said to help maintain tattoo colours too.   Chanel Les 4 Ombres in #332 Noir Supreme, $94, from Chanel
The Fall-Winter Makeup Collection 2019 from Chanel is called Noir Et Blanc, and comprises 15 items, from nail polish to mascara. Our favourite is this limited-edition eyeshadow palette which has a deeper colour palette that encompasses the feeling of the fall and winter seasons, and can be used to create different mysterious smoky-eye looks. The formula is creamy and highly pigmented, as is expected of the brand.
