Five Reasons Why You Should Consider A Pixie Cut Right Now

Yes ladies, I’m going to state where few people dare go – the ultra-short cut is the coolest and freshest way to give your ‘do a new look. Not to mention the most low-maintenance. A whole wave of celebrities from Cara Delevingne to Kristen Stewart are apparently in agreement, shorning off their locks in recent months.

If you’ve tinkered with the idea previously but never had the guts to go for it, here’s a selection of looks that’ll give you inspiration:

#1: Kristen Stewart
K Stew has been rocking short hair for awhile now but for her upcoming latest film Underwater, (reportedly described as an aquatic version of Armaggedon), she took the plunge and shaved it all off and we have to say, this is the coolest – and funnily enough, most natural – she’s ever looked. Come to think of it, when did Kristen Stewart become so cool?! #2: Katy Perry
Of her week-old boyish ‘do, political crusader Katy Perry tells People magazine: “I want to redefine what it means to be feminine. Look at Scarlett Johansson, who’s one of the most beautiful women in the world. We have the same haircut and I saw her at an Oscars party and was like, ‘I’m doing it.’” #3: Cara Delevingne
Actress/model Cara Delevingne also took to the shavers just this month, though she chose to retain her current pastel-hued locks. #4: Zoe Kravitz
Cool girl Zoe Kravitz (daughter of singer Lenny Kravitz and a favourite at Balenciaga) ditched her signature plaits for a boyish crop that’s closer to Katy Perry’s than Kristen Stewart’s buzz cut but similar to the other two, she went platinum blonde. #5: Michelle Williams
Manchester by the Sea actress Michelle Williams (no, not the Destiny’s Child member) has always had short hair but this February she went even shorter, unveiling a demure yet chic pixie crop that harked back to Mia Farrow in the ’60s. Ladies, this is the look for you if you find the previous examples too boyish. And hello? Have you not seen Female‘s April cover? Like this?
