Shu Uemura announces a makeup collab with Onitsuka Tiger
In anticipation for the Tokyo Olympics 2020, the two global Japanese brands are collaborating for a limited edition makeup launch. Set to launch in May, the range is inspired by the stripes and blue, red and orange accents of Onitsuka Tiger sneakers. The Shu Uemura x Onitsuka Tiger collection ($30 – $165) will feature a variety of products from eye palettes, lipsticks, cleansers and makeup tools.  Perfect for beauty junkies who love to play with makeup, the line is filled with bold, vibrant shades. “When this collaboration started, what came up in my mind is the healthy and active women wearing bright colour makeup back in the 1980s,” explains Uchiide, Shu Uemura’s international artistic director. To celebrate the launch, the shoe brand will also be releasing a limited edition sneaker in ‘Tokyo Red’ that will be sold in May at all Onitsuka Toger flagshop stores around Asia.  Maison Christian Dior is launching a limited edition Toile de Jouy fragrance packaging.
Toile de Jouy – a type of cotton fabric with rural motifs printed on them – is a major legacy and design code for Dior. In 1947, the material which was adored by the court of Versailles, covered absolutely everything in the brand’s first boutique. Today, you see it frequently featured on Dior bags, accessories and even ready-to-wear collections.  In May, three popular fragrances will be getting a Toile de Jouy by Dior makeover: the fresh Lucky, the famous modern chypre Gris Dior, and the flowery Holy Peony. Priced at $315 (125ml) and $450 (250ml), the limited edition Toile de Jouy collection will be available exclusively at Maison Christian Dior boutique at ION Orchard. Skin Inc has a new skincare-makeup hybrid
The home-grown beauty brand has just launched their latest skinnovation.  To be used as the last step in your skincare routine or the first step in your makeup routine, the Skin Inc Serum Glow Filter ($72) has a lightweight, hydrating gel to light cream transforming texture and is infused with brightening pearl capsules to deliver a soft focus effect and reduce the appearance of pores and imperfections, both instantly and over time.  It’s made with a cocktail of skin-loving active ingredients like Korean Gold Hibiscus extract, vitamin B3 and hyaluronic acid to brighten and lift skin, as well as soften fine lines. It also provides a long-lasting hydration for a dewy finish all day long. The lightweight cream also uses a Light Reflective Technology that enables external light to bounce off your skin, creating a glowy, soft-focus effect to highlight and illuminate skin. Shiseido Makeup adds an entirely new product to its lineup
The LipLiner InkDuo Prime + Line ($40) is a first for the Japanese beauty brand. The two-in-one tool preps, sculpts and enhances lips, giving it longlasting colour and definition. On one end is a clear, weightless primer that protects and smooths lips without leaving behind a slippery finish. The other end features an ultra-slim pencil that propels and repels without ever having to be sharpened.  “We were very specific about the diameter of the pencil, as we wanted to make filling in the lips just as easy as lining the perimeter,” says James Boehmer, Global Artistic Director for Shiseido Makeup. The featherweight formula glides effortlessly across lips and stays put for eight hours, allowing it to extend the life of any product layered over top. Available in 12 shades.    This new micro-peeling cleanser is a must-have for acne-prone skin
If you’re tired of dealing with breakouts, then you’re going to want to check out the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Micro-Peeling Purifying Gel ($36.90). It’s made with active ingredients like two per cent salicylic acid and zinc to unclogs pores, smooth skin texture and reduce sebum production, while glycerin helps to hydrate and soothe skin.  Studies have shown that after just one week, the cleanser is able to reduce pimples by 51 per cent, blackheads by 16 per cent and pigmentation by 57 per cent.
