Founder Of Tarte: On The Many Ways To Use Shape Tape Concealer And Ditching Beauty Boundaries

American beauty brand Tarte recently launched its well-loved Shape Tape Concealer here in Singapore, known for its full coverage with a flawless matte finish. But, that's not all there is to it. Here, founder Maureen Kelly shares various ways the concealer can be used, the biggest makeup trends this year and a quick, fuss-free makeup look to try.

Creating a fuss-free 5-minute makeup look

MK: “When I’m in a pinch, I’ll use the Shape Tape Concealer to cover dark circles and any imperfections, then use the  Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush to add some colour to the cheeks and lids, and finally do a couple swipes of the Lights, Camera, Lashes™ 4-in-1 Mascara. It instantly opens up the eyes and makes you look more awake. Top it off with an H2O Gloss, and you are ready to go.”

The hottest makeup look she’s into

MK: “I’m really loving the fun colours right now. I’ve seen some great bold blue and green eyeshadow looks, and have been playing with electric purple as a liner to remix my own look.”

The 2019 makeup trends

MK: “I believe there will be a huge trend on glittery, sparkly lips that look out of this world. Additionally, the monochromatic makeup look is one that will be big this year. There’s something so fresh about seeing the same hue on eyes, lips and cheeks. Lastly, I feel that the use of mixed finishes is pretty cool. An example of a look would be glossy lids (you can tap a gloss over an eyeshadow with your fingers) or use our chrome paint shadow pots — they leave an out-of-this-world shine, which is big for 2019. Finally, blurred cheeks that are a soft-matte to deliver the perfect-looking flush and blotted lips — my personal favourite because they’re low-maintenance and look good all day.”
