I’m hard-pressed to find someone who isn’t impressed by Aesop. We’ve featured them in our list of the best non-sticky hand creams (and even turned our senior fashion writer Imran into a fan); visited their new store in Kyoto (read it in our September issue); and recently tried out an upcoming product, the Blue Chamomile Hydrating Masque, by way of a luxurious facial (the service is available at Tangs Orchard).
So while this might be the fifth standalone shop in Singapore, its new Capitol Piazza space is tops on my must-go list for being the one with the most local flavour (hey, it’s SG50 after all).
Designed together with Australian architecture firm Russell & George, the store references Peranakan culture with patterned black-and-white floor tiles. Bare, curved whitewashed walls add a modern touch, while oak shelves pay tribute to the key material found in shophouses of old.
The result: A refined atmosphere that grants you a distraction-free environment to shop for face, hair and body products that come with the most amazing array of smells. #01-11 Capitol Piazza
