The iconic Chanel No5 fragrance was first created in 1921 for Coco Chanel by perfumer Ernest Beaux. Said to be the first perfume in the floral-aldehyde category, it has become legendary in fragrance circles for its elegant scent and classic bottle. With notes of bergamot, ylang-ylang, jasmine, rose, vanilla and patchouli, the Eau de Parfum is both feminine yet powerful.
Since its launch, the original has spawned many variations, the latest being Eau Premiere. First released in 2007, the scent was given a revamp just this year. A lighter, fresher version of Chanel No5, it has silky-smooth notes of neroli, rose, jasmine, sandalwood and vanilla.
For the festive season, the brand is releasing limited edition 35ml sizes of both No 5 Eau de Parfum and Eau Premiere. In our view, these petite perfumes are both travel-friendly and perfect for gifting.
